Webinar --- Cartoons in Quality (more information)

Enrollment Open

Event Details

Description:
Using graphical images in a business setting is a time-honored practice. Using cartoons as the graphical images offers a surprising method of engaging the audience. Cartoons provide an informal symbology and analogy representation of a concept that allows the use of humor to engage the audience and encourage team building. Team members seem especially responsive to using cartoons to represent processes. Specific tips for creating a cartoon representation of a process map are discussed, including sticking to a unifying theme or analogy, the "pain points" of a process, and graphic creation tips. Additionally, this presentation will be available using GoToWebinar so that participants who can’t attend in person will be able to view the session through a web-based link.

ASQ is no longer accepting cash or checks for pre-registration or on-site for its events. This change is associated with the Society’s transformation project and is intended to improve effectiveness and efficiency by eliminating non-value-added handling costs. The Seattle Geographical Community appreciates your support with this change; we are proud that we were selected to pilot this new process. Less than 10% of our members have been paying for events with cash or checks, so we ask you to help us demonstrate that the Seattle-area ASQ members are willing to accept change that benefits ASQ operations. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Hopen at debhopen@nventure.com.

Cartoons in Quality

This presentation will focus on describing the benefits of using various graphics in process improvement events, when to use graphics and what types of graphics work best in specific circumstances, and how to create your own graphics and cartoons.

Special Note

The Seattle Body of Knowledge Committee will be distributing a message later this week that contains links to some of the items Craig has published or presented for ASQ.
